Mortality was at a high rate about 25% of the people died due to starving and diseases like Cholera. Consequently there were a large number of destitute children who were left without parents

Art Industrial School is doing the service to the orphans, destitute, disabled and other needy youth in and around Tirunelveli and Thoothukudi districts
