The Basaveshwar Science College has its origin in Basaveshwar College bagalkot was the first college established before independence in 1944 by B. V. V Sangha, with a social commitment to impart quality higher education. In the year 1945 Science section was started, and was bifurcated from Basaveshwar College in 1967 as an independent Science College.

To empower the minds of the students with soft skills and with rich human and moral values to make them sociable, kind and responsible nation building citizens.
