Pudukkottai is a historical Place, a princely state of the Thondamans. It was the first ever domain to merge voluntarily with the Indian Union after Independence. When Pudukkottai District was formed in 1974, Pudukkottai Town became the district headquarters. The town began to progress steadily in various fields.
It is often said that education is the foundation of a nation and much of the system of education. The system of education is in a state of flux, in conformity with the growing demands for new branches of knowledge and diversified advancement of the modern technological world.
Foreseeing this, the Bharathi Educational Trust deemed it fit to start a new college with the name “Sri Bharathi Arts and Science College for Women” in order to fulfill the ambition of the student population. This college is situated in Kaikkurichi Village, 5 K.M. away from Pudukkottai towards Aranthangi.
