Sringeri, a small town in remote Malnad region, has the reputation of being the seat of knowledge, Sri Sharada Peetha, established by Sri Shankara Bhagavathpadacharya. The college founded jointly by the Academy of General Education, Manipal and Bharathi Vidya Samsthe, Sringeri is aptly named after Sri Jagadguru Chandrashekhara Bharathi Mahaswamiji, the 34th Pontiff in the unbroken line of succession.
